Thursday. Port Louis.

First up, if you would like a slightly more colourful take on the Lorient trip, you can head over to Postie's blog.

I had another good sleep in on Thursday morning, so lunch became breakfast, with the only disadvantage being the lack of caffeine.

In the afternoon, a bunch of people from the band headed on a Batobus over the water to Port Louis. If you look at the google map in sattelite mode, you can see the main attraction which was the citadel on the point. There is a lot of wall surrounding the port. It's certainly something I'll consider when I'm planning my Fortress. In the days of satellite imagery, I'll need to think about some camoflague from the air though.

There was an awesome dog on the wall of the citadel, and was running around like a mad thing. I thought he was going to fall off several times, but he seemed to be at home up there.

I got lots of photos of the picturesque town, and had a good look around.

We stopped for a coffee by the beach, and I got a photo of me in the sand. The atlantic ocean is directly behind me.

We also passed the submarine base on the way out.

The Nuit Magique went well again last night. It ran at a similar time to the previous night, which meant we were tuning up at 2220 and finished by 0120. Since my foot keeps improving, it was time for drinks again. Having pretty much used all my beer tickets, I headed into town with some of the band for a couple of pints. I think we got back somewhere just after 0330. A satisfying end to another good day.

The other night at the Nuit Magique, a guy started to run away from security, and started into the crowd. He tripped over someone, and launched into the bodies of the row below. Funny for the peformers, not so much for the other spectators....
